Even the bass comes from the entire lower cabinet which is a horn loaded woofer. This brings a lighter footed, lightning fast tight bass but it does NOT bring a very deep bass in any way, meaning below 50hz will be MIA. As far as I know, without a wall, it will be difficult for me to get bass from them. Also, I've heard bass isn't a JBL 4349's strong point. Some owners have commented on the slightly bright sound.
