Web25 sep. 2024 · Several Kuiper Belt objects have been discovered recently including 1992 QB1 and 1993 SC (above). They appear to be small icy bodies similar to Pluto and Triton (but mostly smaller). There are more than 800 known trans-Neptunian objects (as of early 2004); see the MPC’s list. Many orbit in 3:2 resonance with Neptune (as does Pluto). Web20 mei 2024 · 1,142 TNOs (including Centaurs) are now classified, 838 of them thanks to OSSOS. Among these 838 objects, 313 are resonant, including 132 in the 3:2 resonance, 39 in the 7:4 and 34 in the 2:1, and 525 are non-resonant. 421 of the non-resonant object are in the main belt, i.e. between the 3:2 and the 2:1 resonances.

Webtrans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) are of particular interest, and analyses of such data have led to the understanding of the bulk properties of surface shapes (Showalter et al.2024), the determination of distinct compositional classes from surface colors (e.g. Doressoundiram et al.2008;Fraser & Brown Web2 dagen geleden · The Trans-Neptunian Solar System is a timely reference highlighting the state-of-the-art in current knowledge on the outer solar system. Extreme trans-Neptunian objects lead the way to Planet Nine
This is a list of trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs), which are minor planets in the Solar System that orbit the Sun at a greater distance on average than Neptune, that is, their orbit has a semi-major axis greater than 30.1 astronomical units (AU). The Kuiper belt, scattered disk, and Oort cloud are three conventional divisions of this volume of space. As of April 2024 , the catalog of minor planets contains 9… Web17 jun. 2008 · Trans-Neptunian Objects. The sun's family of planets, including the Earth, as well as its other companions like comets, all formed from a disk of material that was present in the early days of the solar system. Remnants of this disk can be found today in the outer parts of the solar system, in particular among the so-called "trans-Neptunian ...
