Then cut a 2×6″ piece of lumber into small rectangles 8-10″ in length. Place a cut 2×6 every 4 feet, with one at each end. Simply use wood screws to drill them into the bottom of the 4×4. The 2×6 pieces will essentially act as feet and be under the 4×4 beam.
